Plot[]

In her room, Tari boots up and enters the "Pocket Gakusei" game in search for Lamar. While there she meets Kizuna AI acting as an in-game guide, who agrees to help her find her friend.

Meanwhile with Belle she meets up with Theo who calls her "Shouty Lady" and Belle annoyingly goes along with it. She performs a glitch to help Theo escape the saferoom, leaving Lucks' minions shocked. Inside, Belle tells Theo to find files pertaining to Lucinia's disappearance.

Back with Tari, they find a girl named Satsuki-chan, but she doesn't respond upon Tari's attempts to talk to her. This being a dating simulator, Kizuna AI tells Tari how the game works.

Theo finally finds the files on Lucinia, but the security finds Theo, leading Belle to try and assist Theo in fighting off the security bots through the means of speedrunning tricks. They fend off the bot swarms as they wait for the file to finish loading. However, a guard notices that someone has been tinkering in the lab, and upon checking, Belle manages to get away in time, however leaving Theo behind. As Lucks once again is notified of Theo's second escape attempt into the server, he decides to transfer Theo from the safe room into the broken cartridge, trapping him in a glitched version of the game. The credits roll differs from the usual credits, showing Tari bonding with Satsuki in-game as well as Theo trapped in the glitched game.

Trivia[]

  • This is the very first Meta Runner episode to have a special guest who does not speak English. The guest is the popular virtual YouTuber, Kizuna AI.
  • While looking for Lucinia's file, Theo comes across "Spletzer files" and blueprints for the "W.A.H. Launcher", referencing Meggy Spletzer and the Waluigi Launcher from the SMG4 series.
  • This episode's title, "Transfer Student", is not a video game term itself, but is rather a reference to what this episode is about. It's about Tari's first time playing Pocket Gakusei. In short, this title is a reference to the in-series mobile dating sim (game),Pocket Gakusei.
  • The style of the episode's credits might be referencing the credits roll of the game Doki Doki Literature Club!
