Meta Runner Wiki

Tempest is a battle royale game in the Meta Runner series.

Overview[]

A typical game of Tempest involves users fighting to gain the most kills in an arena within a limited time. Scattered around each area are spellbooks that granted whoever obtains them element powers such as fire, wind or earth that can be applied either offensively, defensively or for movement.

Story[]

It is unclear what the story is but there is lore for ManaFall Beach there saying that the Druids used the beach to pacify their captured enemies with the beach water but they were also in frequent position to be ambushed there.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay is a battle royale game where the player goes around a map to collect spellbooks to defeat other players.

History[]

This game was the major game for the competition that MD-5 goes through. Tari practiced a glitch called the Deep Mountain Clip so that she can crash the game and make the TASCorp server accessible to Sofia to extract data from. During the competition she was able to perform the glitch and Sofia hacked into the server to get the data. However MD-5 was caught which lead to Tari being caught and separated from her friends.

Trivia[]

  • Tempest's most notable glitch is the "Deep Mountain Clip". By hitting the ground at 55 km/h at a 36 degree angle, a player can pass through the floor, causing the game's servers to crash immediately. Since this glitch is only possible by leaping off the tallest point in the Mountain Arena and at such a specific speed and angle, it's considered to be near-impossible in an actual match, even by a Meta Runner. This is possible if you adjust but in a real match the only known person to do it is Tari.
  • The game was originally going to be called Warlock Warfare. This changed to Tempest presumably because the staff liked the title of Tempest better.
  • The game was also originally going to be PUBG before magic spells were used and Manafall Beach was the location.
  • Multiple different spells use the same symbol indicating that each of the magic spells belong to a certain type of symbol.
