As of 02/17/2022, it was stated on the Screen Australia page that the final season is in post-production. The final season teaser released on May 6, it was confirmed as the final season of Meta Runner, slated for July 22, 2022. Sheridan is also holding Belle and Masa hostage, including obsessing over Lucinia Porter who is currently unconscious. Tari and the crew are also seen in Skybreakers likely fighting Evelyn. Tari and Theo are also seen in a virtual world with Evelyn wielding a knife. Additionally, Screen Australia published an article on their website announcing funding for various projects, one of which was Meta Runner season 3. According to the Screen Australia website, Meta Runner season 3 will consist of eight episodes, compared to Meta Runner seasons 1 and 2 consisting of ten episodes.
